Brown Basmati Rice

Method

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. Pour rice and water into the Instant Pot insert. Stir in ghee and salt if using.

  3. Lock the lid, set to high pressure for 22 minutes with the vent in sealing position.

  4. When the cooker beeps, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure.

  5. Open the lid and fluff the rice gently with a fork or ladle. Serve alongside curry or other dishes.

Notes

Natural pressure release is key to avoiding mushy rice; do not skip it.

Rinsing removes excess starch and helps achieve separate, fluffy grains.
